In Te Anau with Tom 24/8

Yesterday Big Bird went to Te Anau and saw a top dressing plane. It was flying low spraying, then it landed. He got a photo beside a Takahe sculpture. We took a photo of him with a helicopter. We went to see his friends, the Canada Geese, the Kea, Takahe, Wood Pidgeon and Kaka. We stayed at Nana and Grandads new holiday house, Big Bird had his own bed. In the morning he needed to go to the toilet. Matt was just about to flip Big Bird but I dived and grabbed him just before he got flipped. We went to the park to play. Big Bird wanted to go down the slide. He asked me to come with him. On the way home Big Bird wanted us to take a photo of him close to the wind farm on White Hill.

Home with Xanthe! 19/8

Big Bird tried to do my homework for me. And then Big bird watched some TV with me and Thalia. Big Bird asked if he could help make tea and them had a little pet time. Then Big Bird ran Elmo. Then it was bed time for Big Bird. Then story time. On Wednesday me and Big Bird went to Hip Hop at Jazz time. The teachers name is Lou, she is the nicest hip hop teacher.

Big Bird at the Olympics

Today Big Bird went to the Oympics. He has been to the running on day one and day two he watched the swimming and lots of other stuff. After that we went to bed, then the night was over. In the morning we watched Spiderwick and after that we made play-dough for the 5 year olds in room 10.

Grace & Big Bird at Dunedin's Mercy Hospital

Today Big Bird came to Mercy Hospital for an operation. The operation was to put some grommets into my ears. I got a special thing called a gown, it looked funny! I got to see my bed, it was cool and went upand down. I got a band and so did Big Bird, they had our names on. I got mine put on my foot so did Big Bird. Then we went into the room were they put you to sleep. Let the operation start. After that I was awake. Then they wheeled me back to my room. I got to see my mum and get some breakfast. I chose Cocopops and ice cream with jelly mmm-mmm!! I got my clothes back and got dressed. The nurses gave me a colouring book to take home and a teddy bear called Maddie. She is wearing a t shirt that says Maddie the Mercy Bear. My little brother got a colouring biook too and a teddy bear too, his one is chocolate bear. Then it was timje to go home.

Courtneys birthday party

When we went to Courtneys birthday party at the Cabbage Tree, Big Bird rang Elmo to say hello. Then he was thirsty so he had a drink of wine and ate a little hot dog his size! Then he went to play with baby toys and he also played wrestling on the playstation. When he looked at the paintings his favourite one was the ducks.

Jareds adventures...5/8/08

Today Big Bird went to Riverton. On a very windy and rainy day. The waves were very very big. Then we went to the very very big paua shell. The waves went right over top of the biggest rock and even some of the little rocks. We put Big Bird in a towel and wrapped it around Big Bird very tightly. Then we found a hole. The sand was covered up with stones and some rocks were covered with mussels. Then we found hundreds of pauas and hundreds of mussels. Then we went to the Lonestar. Then we went to bed and it was eight o'clock.

Big Bird is the latest addition to the room 2 family here at Salford School. He is going to be going on a few adventures in the next few weeks, with the students from the class! The students are going to take Big Bird with them on their journeys during the week and in weekends, and take photos of their time. The students will also write about what they have been up to in a notebook and then post it here on our blog. Watch this space...
